Kent County Seeks to Increase Hotel Capacity

New Hotel Proposed Near Historic Downtown

1M visitors in the past month

In response to the growing number of visitors to Kent County, local officials are exploring ways to increase hotel capacity. One proposed solution is the construction of a new hotel near the historic downtown area. The hotel would have approximately 150 rooms and would be located within walking distance of many of the county's most popular attractions.

The proposal has been met with mixed reactions from the community. Some residents are concerned about the potential impact of the hotel on traffic and noise levels. Others, however, believe that the hotel would be a boon to the local economy, creating jobs and increasing tourism revenue.

The county is currently conducting a feasibility study to determine the viability of the proposed hotel. The study is expected to be completed by the end of the year. If the study finds that the hotel is feasible, the county will begin the process of seeking a developer.

The influx of visitors to Kent County has been a major factor in the county's recent economic growth. In the past month alone, the county has welcomed over 1 million visitors. The visitors have spent an estimated $50 million in the county, supporting local businesses and creating jobs.

The county is committed to continuing to promote tourism and economic development. The proposed hotel is one of several initiatives that the county is exploring to increase its capacity for visitors.
