WEB Struggles to Convert Baserunners into Runs

Missed Opportunities Plague Team in Four-Game Series

San Diego, Calif. –

The WEB Runners left a total of 14 runners on base in their four-game series against the San Diego Stars, ultimately contributing to their 1-3 record.

Despite having multiple scoring opportunities, the Runners failed to capitalize, leaving the bases loaded twice and stranding runners in scoring position in six other innings.

Star shortstop Manny Machado led the team with four runners left on base, followed by third baseman Luis Arraez with three.

  • Machado: 4 runners left on base, 1 RBI
  • Arraez: 3 runners left on base, 2 RBIs
  • Waldron: 5 runners left on base, 2 RBIs
  • Matsui: 1 runner left on base, 1 RBI
  • Reynolds: 1 runner left on base, 1 RBI

The Runners' inability to convert baserunners into runs proved costly, as they were outscored 20-11 in the series.

Manager Joe Girardi expressed frustration over the team's lack of execution in key situations.

"We had our chances, but we just couldn't get the big hit when we needed it. We need to be better at driving in runners and putting up crooked numbers on the scoreboard."

The Runners will look to improve their offensive production when they face the Los Angeles Angels in a three-game series starting on Monday.

Fans can watch the games on the WEB Network or listen to the radio broadcast on WBZ.
